Young People and Families
> Do you want to spend some more time with your friends after school?
> Do you want to meet some new people who are your age?
> Do you want to go to the local Youth Club?
> How about Brownies, Guides, Cubs, Scouts or even a Sports Class?
The Youth Inclusion Project can help to facilitate this for you. We are able to locate clubs and organisations and work with them to ensure successful inclusion.
We will provide training, information, advice and support to ensure that the staff and your child are confident in working with each other.
In addition, we will also attend the group sessions and will step back only once everyone has acknowledged that it is going well.
The length of time that we would spend supporting the club is completely child dependent. At present some have been supported for only 1 session, whilst others have had 3 months support. We recognise that some young people may need 1:1 support in order for them to attend. This is something that PLUS may be able to help provide.
We like to build up a good relationship with the organisations we work with. This allows us to visit established partnerships to see how successful the inclusion continues to be. We remain at the end of a phone to provide additional guidance if necessary.
Clubs we have worked with to date are:
Beechwood Cubs
Braehead Cubs
Stirling Guides
Braehead Guides
Cambusbarron Brownies
Raploch Youth Initiative
Bannockburn Youth Club
Braehead Youth Club
Girls Brigade
The Dunblane Centre
The Rock/ Café Cast
Active Stirling
We are always looking to add to this list, so please contact Susan on 01786 450086 or at inc@plus-stirling.org.uk if you are interested in becoming involved with the Youth Inclusion Project.
