About PLUS

PLUS has its earliest roots in Play Scheme 88, a summer holiday play scheme for children with disabilities organised by parents in 1988. The success of this scheme led to the formation of the registered charity Playplus. Playplus initially worked with 5 - 12 year old children.

Playplus grew and developed throughout the 1990s and, as the original children also grew , it started to make some provision for teenagers.

In 2002 regular funding from Stirling Council Children`s Services was extended from 5-12 to 5-19 year olds.In 2003 The Bank Project was started, providing support to people aged 18-25 and the name of the organisation was changed to PLUS

Plus currently run seven projects. For further information about each project click on the links on the left.

PLUS has been successful in building partnerships and in attracting funding from a wide range of bodies including recent grants from The Big Lottery, The New Opportunities Fund, Children in Need, FutureBuilders, The Stirling Regeneration Fund, and The Laidlaw Youth. PLUS is also grateful for many recent donations including generous sums from local Rotary Clubs Trust.
